Connect two telephone lines to your studio mixing console

Bring telephone interviews, listener calls and remote contributions into your broadcast. The D&R Dual Telephone Hybrid connects two independent analogue telephone lines to your mixing console, combining two active hybrid channels in a compact 1U, 19-inch rackmount unit. Each channel has separate send and receive level controls, so you can adjust the audio going to the caller and the audio coming back into your studio.

Practical control over your telephone audio

Adjust each caller independently
Set the outgoing studio feed and incoming caller level separately for each telephone line. This gives you control when callers have different speaking levels or connection conditions.

Shape the sound and improve signal separation
Adjustable low-cut and high-cut filters help reduce unwanted low- and high-frequency noise. The R and C balance controls let you fine-tune the hybrid to the telephone line, reducing the amount of outgoing studio audio that leaks back into the caller’s return signal.

Keep the presenter audible
Automatic ducking reduces the incoming caller level when the presenter speaks. This helps the presenter remain audible when both people talk at the same time.

Integrate with your studio equipment
Active balanced audio connections and XLR inputs and outputs connect the hybrid to your mixing console. GPIO connections support remote control from compatible consoles or external control equipment.

What you need to connect it

Your studio needs compatible analogue telephone connections, suitable audio cables and a mixer with line inputs and appropriate clean-feed, or mix-minus, routing. A mix-minus feed sends studio audio to a caller without sending that caller’s own voice back to them, helping avoid feedback.
